Page names that you will be forever stuck with. But thank god I could change it!

So a few weeks ago, I have finally decided that I wanted to change my page name, I felt like that my old page name, which was "SweetGlittter", was too hard for anyone to remember, since I now have my own little freelance business in my town, and this name does not just represent my bIog anymore, I have found it very hard to explain when I hand my business cards to people, same thing happens when I try to introduce my blog or Facebook page or YouTube channel to people.  It just sounded more like a candy selling business than anything that is beauty or makeup related.

So I have came up with "Jun Beauty" as my new page name, It is very "cliche" and typical, I know, but it does make it much easier for anyone to remember.

I have also erased my old Facebook page and created a new one, because Facebook wouldn't let me change my name without a good ''proof'' of documents.
Hopefully everyone will go back to my page.

Here is the new look and link to my Facebook page, there is also a picture link on the right side column of my blog that goes straight to my page along with other social medias that I am currently using, please follow.

Recent work : Graduation makeup

This makeup look was done for my client who had a graduation dinner to attend to
that night, she had a beautiful purple floral dress.

I did a soft smokey eye on her with a beautiful muted purple color eye shadow that has a soft gold sheen to it as her main color, and faded everything out with soft brown tone shadows,
and darkened the crease a slight bit, finished the look off with some eyeliner and some mascara.

I paired the look with a light pink blush and a peachy toned lipstick to keep everything nice and soft.

Maybelline Eye Studio Color Plush Silk EyeShadow Quad in Give Me Gold. Review, Pictures & Swatches

If you love silky pigmented eyeshadows, BINGO, I have been loving Maybelline's new
EYESTUDIO Collection, everything in this collection they come out with has really impressed me a lot, I have tried two of these palettes, their color tattoo cream eye shadows (read about it here), the master precise ink pen liner (LOVEE) and their gel liner (which I will post about it soon)

This fabulous palette here is the Plush Silk Eyeshadow Quad by Maybelline called Give Me Gold. There are 12 different quads in their collection now retails for about AUD$17 each.
It includes four complimentary colors in one quad from light to dark with a typical dual ended sponge tip applicator. All the shades are very pigmented and smooth, very easy to apply and blend, non of any shades felt different or chunky. Impressive, totally recommend you to go and snatch yourself one.

All four colors swatched on the back of my hand (Im an NC30-35)

Close ups of the shades
The darkest color is a dark chocolate brown with gold shimmers, to the left is a warm copper bronze color also with gold shimmer, which has became my favourite shade out of the four,
love it as a all over lid color

A lighter yellow gold

The lightest color in the quad, a very nice champagne shimmery shade.

Overall, I love these shades, they all go so well together, you can create good few different looks with just one quad.

Recent Work : Zombie Boy.

Its October so Halloween will be here soon, good chance to bust out your halloween makeup
and start playing with liquid latex and fake blood, all that good stuff again.

I gave my model a zombie transformation the other day, the results came out very pleasing,
I think it's the scary eyes that pulled everything together !
Taking photos were the best part, get to see everything in action !

Model : Scott Hughson
Photographer : Daniel Crowley
Makeup : Me

Products Used :
Mehron Liquid Latex
Tissue paper
Red, Green and Black face paint
Blood Scab
Foundation of his shade
Translucent , HD powder

The look is very easy to do, and can be done with a very few little things that you can have easy access to at party shops.
Bare in mind that the liquid latex will ruin your brushes, so don't use any of your precious ;)

Special thanks to Daniel Crowley for taking all these amazing photos, and that awesome Photoshop in that last picture.

Have fun !

m.a.c Soft Brown Matte Eye Shadow Review, Pictures & Swatches

I love transitioning colors, they make such big of a difference it makes on your eyes !
Soft Brown is one of my all time favourite colors to use, I always start off with a transition color in the crease with what ever look I do. It really helps to tie in your colors together and make them blend flawlessly, its a hero to every look.
m.a.c soft brown is a soft golden peachy brown color with a matte finish, It is very warm when swatched, it shows up very well on darker skins, like mine, I'm NC35. But it also looks great on people with paler skin ! It might just show off a bit more orangy than it looks though.

It is a very nice and smooth, easy to apply, no fall outs, easy to blend.
It's not just great as a transition crease color, this looks practically great as a all over lid color too, ever since I got this color, I wear it whenever I cannot think of what to do on my eyes on the day. And it always turns out great.

This little pot of magic is AUD$33 for 1.5g of product, it sounds over priced for a m.a.c product, but shipping is god amoungst cosmetics brands here. I asked for a refill pan, but they said to me that they don't sell it any more unless I go to the pro stores, and being where I am at, there are no pro stores available. I would much prefer a refill pan than a pot, so I can just pop it into my palette and save up all the de potting mess.Tarter sauce.Oh well

The intensity of this color can be build up to it's most opaque or a very light wash of it.
I usually use a sigma E40 to blend this in the crease.

This is one of their fabulous transition colors, if you are looking for other colors that you could use for the same purposes with a matte finish, I recommend you to have a look and swatch at

Go here to check out more information about this fabulous eye shadow.

Hope you enjoyed reading this post, definitely go to their counters and have a look around, swatch them out!
Have fun !

Recent Work : A Make Over, Nautral Enhancement on Male

This is the sort of look I would go for when I am to do make up for a guy,
the few things to always do is
-Apply a pore filler / primer
-Always even out skin tone
- Conceal all redness.

So what I have done today, is just a make over to demonstrate my ability of doing what I love and What I can do. And it is always to best to show what your flexibilities are. Like m.a.c says,
All sexes, all ages and all races.

Basically, it's just enhancing what it is already there in an embracing manner, less is more. But depending on the situations and what is it for, it can be done differently. For instance, todays look is just a natural look, but the photos are taken with super bright flash photography, therefore I did the make up a little bit heavier than I would because flashes will wash out the colors of the face.
The aim is to perfect the skin, normally I would just do step one to eight, but today I have decided to do a little bit more with the eyes , which is step eight to the end. Because I can. But if your doing it, you may gladly skip this part..

Guys are just as the same as us, they also have uneven skin tones, redness, acne scars and different textures to their skin all I have done is reduced some of this and enhance some of that, nothing too dramatic. Nothing Adam Lambert here, don't freak out.

For your information, before you scroll down to all the photos, this is my friend who has very kindly and nicely said yes to letting me paint all over his face and does not mind, don't bash if you don't like it. Appreciate what a person can do and can not do.

As you can see, he has light skin with redness on the cheeks, and some break outs here and there and a few fine lines. So here is what I have done in detail.
  1. Always start with applying moisturiser to the entire face, blend out and let it dry, this brings moisture back to the skin after washing the face. I used a mattifying gel moisturiser.
  2. Apply a primer or pore filler only on areas that has large pores like the cheek area, nose and t zone. This will help minimize the look of enlarged pores, specially where they usually shave.
  3. Apply a color correcting concealer on the under eyes area to correct any dark circles, salmon colors will correct any blue and purpleness .
  4. Apply foundation with a damp sponge in a patting motion, I chose a yellow based foundation with medium coverage, this mainly helps to take away the redness on his cheeks. Using a damp sponge will help spreading the foundation more evenly and not having it absorbing the foundation all up.
  5. Using a concealer of the same color, spot conceal areas that needs more coverage like acne scars.
  6. Apply a shading powder to the outer perimeter of the face, also contouring.
  7. Set everything with a powder, translucent powder is not used here because it will cause a white cast in flash photography and make him look ghostly
  8. Fill in the eye brows sparse areas only, with a very light hand because his brows are very dense already, the purpose of this is just to shape them.
  9. Apply the same shade of shading powder on the eyelid area with a light hand, this is just to enhance the depth of the eyes. And a light matte beige colors just to highlight the brow bone.
  10. Taking a dark matte brown, smudge it along the top lash liner and bottom lash line to enhance the fullness of the lashes
  11. Line the top waterline with a black gel liner using a small eye brush
  12. Curl the lashes if necessary  this will help opening the eyes more and not having the lashes covering the eyes.
  13. Because he has naturally super long and full lashes, mascara was not needed.

Done !

Recent work : Red everything.

I don't normally do anything colorful on my eye balls during the week cause I have uni to go to, by just wearing contact lenses already freaks most of the people out plus I don't have a lot of time to get ready.
So I do all that during the weekend, when I have more time. And this week I did a look with red eye shadows, the star of this look is from Sugarpill Cosmetics , called Love+ . It's a beautifully bright, pigmented smooth eye shadow.

The look itself is actually very simple, again, blending is always always the key.
I used a dark brown pencil all over the eyelids as a base color, then put the red eye shadow on top of it and in the crease,so it would turn out like a dark blood red.

After that I apply a matte dark brown shadow on both outer and inner corners of my eyes to give it more dimension. Placing a highlighting color on the middle of my eye lids to highlight.

Then just applied brow highlight and eyeliner and mascara like I normally would. For the bottom lash line I just applied the same dark matte brown shadow.

For my face, I didn't apply any blush at all cause I wanted a super contoured bronzed look,  I contoured my face heavily with a matte shading powder including the nose.

And for the lips I wanted to pair the look with a nude lip, since the eyes are the star, I applied two different nude shades, a darker shade on the outer corners and a lighter shade in the middle, giving the same effect we are going for with the eyes, Dimension !
Enjoy !

The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream & Tea Tree Blemish Gel Review.

Hello my loves, here to show you my recent little splurge. Worth my money splurge.
I ran out of moisturiser at home (the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel )so I thought it was time to switch to another one, I heard awesome things about this day cream so I went ahead and got that, along with the little tea tree blemish gel.

The Body Shop Seaweed Mattyfying Day Cream & Tea Tree Blemish Gel

The body shop says : an easily absorbed, non-clogging, oil-free, hydrating moisture cream. It balances excess sebum, moisturises dry areas, gives a matte, shine-free complexion.
It retails for $24.95 for 50ml of product. (Depending where you are, so check out their website for that.)
My say: Yes, it totally live up to its claims, and I looovee this stuff !

This is a gel like cream, which is great for any one with oily faces, like me. Because it is not oil based this awesome cream it will keep your face shine free for a good while. I put it on after i wash my face, day and night, also before makeup. A little goes a long way, when you apply it, it feels very moisturising and fast absorbing, after it dries and settles in, made my skin feel sooo smooth.

You might think, eeeeew, its god damn seaweed, well for those of you who hates seafood and the smell of it. Do not worry. This does not smell like seaweed at all, it has a very floral soothing smell to it. And that is partly why I love it so much too ! Go and have a smell before you turn your head away my loves.

(straight out of the jar)

(blended it out a litte, this amount here can cover a good half + areas of your face, a little goes a long way!)

Another thing I got is the Tea Tree Blemish Gel
The body shop says : A convenient  portable stick that helps to cleanse and fight blemishes with a triple blend or natural active ingredients, may be used alone or under make-up. It is a gel for targeted care, soothes, instantly cools without drying skin and this is clinically proven to give clear-looking skin. It retails for $12.95 for 2.5ml of product.
My say: Continuously used this for almost two weeks now, and yes, it is helping my acne a lot !

This little thing has helped my acne a lot for the last couple weeks, I am currently using this everyday before my make up and after I wash my face, also when I feel like there is a new one coming soon. Applying it on where I need it to be, right on top of your annoying new best friends, like you would with spot concealing, don't need a lot ,just a thin layer on top. I personally am not a big fan of the way the tea tree product smells, but this stuff works !

I am seeing my acne going away a lot more quicker than usual, it soothes those spots and also made them look less less red, and it is very convenient , you can just pop this in your bag and use it when ever you want to. I would recommend this if you have acne problems, try it out !

Hope you liked my post !

m.a.c Matte Lipstick - Please Me Review, Pictures & Swatches

Girls, let's admit it, a few lipstick is never enough, so check out my precious newbie in my make up collection here, its a matte lipstick from m.a.c called Please Me,

it is a beautiful muted rosy tinted pink color, you get the exact color payoff that you see when it's in the tube. I tend to stay away from matte lipsticks since they always had the dry lips look straight away repetition.
But I have decided to go to the counter and try a few of them on, and I fell in love with this color as soon as I swatched it.

It glides on smoothly, didn't make my lips feel dry at all, I like to wear it on top of a nude lip liner, and it is just beautiful, very pigmented, makes a very nice everyday color.

Just make sure that your lips are very moisturised before you apply matte lipstick, no, actually this applies to anything you wear on your lips my loves, so make sure you do that.

I have also picked up another lippy from them, its a sheen supreme lipstick, I will do a post on that very soon.

Hope you liked my post today,
have fun

Favourite of the Month : L'Oreal Paris Gentle Eyes & Lips Make-up Remover.

There are lots of drugstore makeup removers out on the market, I have tried most of them, like the Biore, Neutrogena, Garnier, Maybelline, Revlon etc.
But I find the one I always come back to is this one, the L'Oreal Gentle Eyes & Lips Make-up Remover. It is an oil based remover, so it has two layers in the bottle, the top with the oil and the bottom with the remover.

Because it is oil based, it removes everything including any waterproof mascara and gel liners,
the formula is very gentle, doesn't sting the eye if it gets in there, all I do is soak a piece of cotton pad with the remover and then gently pat it onto my eyes, let the remover melt the makeup and then just wipe it off. After all that , I wash my face to make sure all traces of makeup is gone, then moisturize and tone.

Most of the other ones that I have tried are also oil based formulas, but it just felt like they don't take the makeup off as well as the L'Oreal one does. Sometimes I still find mascara residue on my lashes after soaking them with other brand removers for so long.

L'Oreal has recently changed the packaging of this remover too. It looks more fancy now, looks like it has a clean cut sleek rectangular body, but you still get the same amount of product out of it.

I have gone through countless bottles of this good stuff, usually a bottle of this (125ml) will last me for 3-4 months, it retails for AUD$10-13 depends where you get it from. I always stock it up when its on sale for 3 or 4 dollars cheaper, saves a lot. I definitely recommend this to all of you who are looking for a good remover.

Hope you liked my post.

Illamasqua Medium Pencil in VOW review . Make-up for your alter ego.

So I recently got this pencil from Illamasqua during my trip to Brisbane in the last few weeks, along with some other stuff, yes I totally had a big splurge. I am  very excited about this pencil as you know eye pencils that are skin shades are hard to find. Specially in Australia in a little small city like mine, where brands are pretty limited. It was retailing for ADU $17 ($20 normally) and you get 1g of product.

Illamasqua says that this is one of their most versatile products as you can use them on your eyes, face and body. The shade VOW is described as a cool apricot yellow. The formula itself is very smooth and has a very creamy texture to it so it glides onto your skin.
I love using this on my waterline as it grips onto the waterline pretty nicely, don't need to layer it on. Perfect eye brightener.
I also use it around my lips to make a clean cut when I wear darker lip colors, like dark reds and plum colours and this pencil stays on for a good amount of time. Impressed.

The pencil was swatched on my arm, I have NC30-35 skin, it showed up pretty well.
Love this pencil, skin toned eyeliners are hard to come by, so when you see one, make sure you snatch one, girl.

Here are some other brands that I know makes skin tone coloured eye pencils:

Rimmel-Scandale eyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner in Nude
m.a.c-Chromagraphic pencils in NC15/NW20 & NW25/NC30 & NC42/NW35
Stila-Kajal Eyeliner in Topaz
NYX-Wonder Pencil in Light & Medium & Deep

Bonus picture, camera out focused the pencil and onto the kitty cat.
